Runaway Bull

Cookstown | by Ken Hashizume
Police closed down Highway 400 at 89 while trying to apprehend a bull.

Police in Cookstown dealing with an unusual animal.

A bull was spotted on Sunday morning -- wandering loose out on the fields near Highway 400 and 89.

It had apparently escaped from the Cookstown Stock Yard.

South Simcoe Police and the OPP had to close the 400 for a period of time as they feared the bull may find its way onto the live lanes.

They were able to corral the bull but the animal was put down in order to keep it from causing a serious collision.
