It's not likely the annual triathlon at Beach Area One in Wasaga Beach will be cancelled because of the rain on Saturday.

Multisport Canada says it doesn't like to cancel races, but may alter the route or shorten it to a Duathlon if the water is too choppy.

Over 15 hundred people have registered for today's event.

The triathlon is typically a 750 metre swim, a 30-K bike ride and a 7.5 kilometre run.

Area doctors and nurses will be competing to raise money for the Collingwood hospital.
