Colts Down the Attack

Owen Sound | by Manny Paiva
Barrie beats Owen Sound 3-1 to open the OHL exhibition season.

The Barrie Colts won the first half of the Labour Day classic with the Owen Sound Attack in the first OHL exhibition games of the season for both teams.

The Colts scored two unanswered goals in the third period to beat Owen Sound 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

If the play during this game was any indication, the six meetings between these two rivals should be very intense as Sunday's game involvolved several big hits, fights and goalmouth gatherings.

Anthony Camara opened the scoring for Barrie in the second period.

But Zach Nastasiuk -- the Barrie native -- would tie the game for Owen Sound in the third period.

Barrie then scored two unanswered goals courtesy of Ryan O'Connor and Josh MacDonald.

Both teams will play again on Monday at 6 PM at the Molson Centre.
