Girls Raise Money For HospitalElmvale | by Catherine ThompsonTwo Elmvale girls have made an important donation to Barrie's hospital. Two Elmvale girls have made an important donation to Barrie's hospital. Over a six month period -- Caley Hofman and Riley Reid, along with two of their friends, collected five hundred dollars. The two 11 year old girls collected money every Thursday from fellow students at their school. They named their collections Toonies for Tumours and Dimes for Disease. The money was collected in memory of Caley's mother, Patty Hofman, who died of cancer last August. The money will go to the new Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre, part of the Barrie hospital's expansion.
