London ends Spirits' playoff season, Barrie aims for the same against Ottawa

Michael Houser stopped 30 shots as the London Knights eliminated the host Saginaw Spirit from Ontario Hockey League playoff action with a 5-3 victory on Saturday.

After splitting the first four games of the series, London won back-to-back contests to take the Western Conference second-round series 4-2.

Scott Wedgewood stopped all 32 shots he faced as the Plymouth Whalers blanked the visiting Kitchener Rangers 3-0.

Plymouth now leads the Western Conference second-round series 3-2 and can advance to the finals against London with a win in Kitchener tonight.

Tonight in the Eastern Conference semifinal, the Barrie Colts are home to Ottawa at 7:30 PM.

The Colts lead the best-of-seven 3-2 and a win would put them into the Eastern Conference final against Niagara.
