Middleton Gives Thumbs Up to Ontario NDP Leader

Regional | by Jim Birchard
The NDP candidate for Simcoe North is offering Andrea Horwath a vote of confidence at this weekend's party convention

The NDP Candidate for Simcoe North in last Fall's election feels NDP leader Andrea Horwath will do very well in tomorrow's leadership review at the party's annual convention in Hamilton.

Doris Middleton says the party is feeling good about Horwaths leadership and increasing their seat count last October and helping hold the Liberals to a minority government.

She says there is a feeling of buoyancy on the convention floor.

Middleton also says that she does not feel the party has abandoned its left-wing roots to move to the centre.

She says she likes to think that the Party continues to fight for average Ontarians rather than representing huge multi-national corporations.
