Ski Hills Ready to OpenRegional | by Kevin BernardIt may not look like it outside, but you will be able to ski this season.
Media spokesperson Collin Matanowitsch says they have stockpiled snow about 12 feet high at the top of the hills and will be spreading it out now that the weather is getting colder. Matanowitsch says they made snow a week ago, but haven't been able to make any more since last Sunday. However, with the cooler weather returning today -- Blue will be making snow thru the night. The resort opens at 9 AM on Saturday with two runs and two lifts open. One is the Silver Bullet lift to Tranquility run, and they will have a Beginners run open as well. On Thursday -- rain and temperatures of 15 degrees, didn't stop Blue or another ski resort from getting runs ready for the weekend. Horseshoe Resort opened earlier this week, and Mount St. Louis opened today with three runs.
