SIU Confirms Shooting VictimGrey County | by Manny PaivaSIU confirms man found dead in forest after shootout is 61 year old David Cameron.
We now have confirmation from the Special Investigations Unit that the man killed in the shootout with the OPP north of Kemble is David Cameron. The 61 year old Chatsworth man was found dead in a wooded area after he exchanged gunfire with police officers on the Taylor Side Road on Monday night. An autopsy was done in London on Wednesday but the SIU is not ready to release its details. There are six SIU investigators probing the shooting -- specifically the actions of three police officers on Monday night. Cameron is the owner of Grew Boats Manufacturing -- where a shooting took place earlier Monday night. Grey County OPP are still seeking more information about the shooting at the business on Highway 6 and 10 south of Rockford. Police say there were three people inside the plant at the time, one woman and two men, when an altercation between a man and woman occurred. A 44 year old Georgian Bluffs man, employed at Grew Boats, was shot while trying to intervene. The unidentified man continues to improve as he recovers in a London hospital. Employees at the business tell Bayshore Broadcasting News the victim was shot as he was coming to the aid of a woman. Doug Cameron, Dave's brother, says the family is requesting privacy for the moment and he wants to thank those people who have offered condolences.
